These are wonderful opportunities to talk in Japanese.

Wednesday, November 9 at CSLC from 5 pm to 6 pm.
Thursday, November 17 at CSLC from 5 pm to 6 pm.
Wednesday, November 30 at CSLC from 5 pm to 6 pm.

Japanese Movie Night (October, 25)

Next Tuesday night, October 25, we'll be showing "The Twilight Samurai," which won 12 Japanese Academy Awards in 2003. The film was co-written and directed by Yoji Yamada and starring Hiroyuki Sanada and Rie Miyazawa. English subtitles will be provided. Hope to see you there!

あきやすみのブログのしゅくだい: due 10/24 げつよう日

きのうはユニットテストでしたが、あしたからだい６か (Chapter 6)を　べんきょうしますね。そして、あさってから１週間（しゅうかん）の秋休み（あきやすみ=fall break)ですね！何（なに）をしますか？　たくさんねますか？　それとも、日本語（にほんご）をべんきょうしますか？

私はニューヨークにいきますよ。NYUでワークショップ (workshop)があるから、ちょっといそがしいですけど、おいしい(tasty)ものをたべて、ともだちにあいます。

これは、秋休み（あきやすみ）のブログのしゅくだいです。だい6かはむずかしいから、ポストをしたほうがいいですよ。

1. Post at least once during your break about your fall break activities using following grammar:

• Verbs (present/past)
• Adjectives
• あります／います
• Location nouns

2. Check the comments made on your blog, and respond if you feel necessary.

3. Comment on the blogs from other schools (プリンストン大学／コロンビア大学) . You can find their classblog URL on the right side (at least 3).

Here at ND/SB, you are showing around a visitor from Japan who does not speak English. Tell the visitor about your campus as he/she asks you questions. Make a dialogue and post it on your blog.

In your dialogue, please make sure to:

☐ Introduce a couple of places or things

☐ Use あります／います

☐ Use other verbs

☐ Use adjectives, adjective + noun

☐ Use location nouns

☐ Use negative sentences

☐ Use various questions words (what, which, where, who, etc.)

☐ Use 〜よ／〜ねwhen appropriate.

☐ Use fillers (え〜と、そうですね、あの〜)

☐ Be creative and have fun!
